La Maschera dell'inganno e una chiave di lettura potente e suggestiva. Le maschere, per loro natura, celano e rivelano allo stesso tempo, ma nel lavoro sembra di emergere qualcosa di più profondo: l'idea che l'inganno non sia solo atto esterno, ma un gioco sottile tra ciò che mostriamo al mondo e ciò che teniamo nascosto dentro di noi. L'atmosfera che si percepisce rimanda alla Venezia più enigmatica, quella dei silenzi dei calli, delle identità sospese durante il Carnevale. Le maschere diventano così simbolo di una verità frammentata, di un volto che sceglie quando essere autentico e quando proteggersi dietro la finzione. La foglia d'oro crea un contrasto di grande eleganza, con la sua luminosità quasi sacra, richiama Venezia, preziosa e misteriosa, ma allo stesso tempo introduce un elemento ambiguo: la lucentezza che attrae e seduce può anche nascondere, come una promessa non del tutto sincera. Questo dialogo tra materia pittorica e luce preziosa rafforza perfettamente il tema dell'inganno: ciò che appare nobile e radioso può essere, in fondo, un velo che copre la complessità del volto nascosto. Lo spettatore viene attirato dallo splendore, ma resta con la sensazione che dietro quella brillantezza ci sia un silenzio enigmatico.

Abstract:

The Mask of Deception is a powerful and evocative interpretation. Masks, by their very nature, simultaneously conceal and reveal, but in the work, something deeper seems to emerge: the idea that deception is not merely an external act, but a subtle interplay between what we show to the world and what we keep hidden within ourselves. The atmosphere evokes the most enigmatic Venice, the silence of the alleys, the identities suspended during Carnival. The masks thus become a symbol of a fragmented truth, of a face that chooses when to be authentic and when to protect itself behind fiction.

The gold leaf creates a highly elegant contrast, with its almost sacred luminosity, recalling Venice, precious and mysterious, but at the same time introducing an ambiguous element: the brilliance that attracts and seduces can also conceal, like a promise that is not entirely sincere. This dialogue between pictorial matter and precious light perfectly reinforces the theme of deception: what appears noble and radiant may, ultimately, be a veil covering the complexity of the hidden face. The viewer is drawn by the splendor, but is left with the feeling that behind that brilliance lies an enigmatic silence.

È stata un’esperienza estremamente significativa visitare per la prima volta a Venezia, città di straordinario fascino, che durante il periodo di Carnevale e San Valentino riesce a coniugare l'arte, tradizione e suggestione in un’atmosfera unica. Tra Venezia e l’arte del Carnevale, esiste, quindi un legame profondo, la città stessa è maschera, scenografia e spettacolo. È un luogo dove realtà e finzione si intrecciano, dove l’identità si nasconde e si rivela, proprio come dietro una maschera veneziana. Il momento più emozionante è stato quando ho presentato della mia opera, dedicata al Carnevale veneziano, intitolata “La Maschera dell’Inganno”, attraverso la quale ho voluto esprimere il valore

simbolico e culturale della maschera e nella tradizione veneziana.

Abstract:

It was an extremely meaningful experience to visit Venice for the first time, a city of extraordinary charm, which during the Carnival and Valentine's Day periods manages to combine art, tradition, and fascination in a unique atmosphere. There is, therefore, a profound connection between Venice and the art of Carnival; the city itself is mask, set, and spectacle. It is a place where reality and fiction intertwine, where identity is hidden and revealed, just like behind a Venetian mask. The most emotional moment was when I presented my work, dedicated to the Venetian Carnival, entitled "The Mask of Deception," through which I wanted to express the symbolic and cultural value of the mask in Venetian tradition.
